A new scholarship program aims to prevent a lack of stable housing from derailing the recovery of eligible people leaving the Virginia Beach Correctional Center.
The Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office, Virginia Beach Department of Human Services, and Oxford House — a national nonprofit network of peer-run, self-supporting homes for people recovering from substance-use disorders — launched the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Recovery Housing Scholarship Program on August 24.
