Investigation determined HRT buses hit with rocks, not gunfire

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk Police were called out to investigate a report of several Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) buses hit by gunfire, but detectives determined the damage to the buses was actually caused by rocks, NPD confirmed.

The incident was reported on Dec. 18 around 5:30 a.m.

When officers arrived at the HRT Transfer Station at 434 Saint Pauls Boulevard, they learned that three HRT buses had been damaged. The actual incident happened about a mile away, at the intersection of Monticello Ave. and E Virginia Beach Blvd.
