4 displaced in fire to Kemps Meadow Dr. residence in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Four people have been displaced after a fire Monday to a single-story home on Kemp Meadow Drive in the Greenbrier section of Chesapeake, the Chesapeake Fire Department said.

Firefighters responded to the 800 block of Kemp Meadow Drive for a report of a structure fire, and when Chesapeake Engine 14 arrived, it reported a single-story residential structure with smoke and flames visible from a window.

Crews worked to put out a fire in a bedroom of the home, and the fire was marked under control at 8:21 p.m., the fire department said.

The occupants evacuated the home before firefighters arrived, and the four adults displaced will be handling their own lodging arrangements, the fire department said…
