VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Changes could be coming to parking on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront through a proposed resident free parking program as well as a new progressive pricing system.
The proposed free resident parking program would come in the form of an annual $50 parking voucher.
“City Council asked us to do something for the residents of Virginia Beach, and they were specifically interested in parking at the Oceanfront and how we might be able to promote business interests at the oceanfront for the residents,” said Public Works Director LJ Hansen. “What we came up with was a parking voucher program, which was basically a way that residents could sign up on a mobile app. They would get $50 a year per resident. It is parking between the areas of Pacific Avenue and Atlantic Avenue.”…
