PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Back in the day, when the afros sheened and bell bottoms were clean, Bilal Muhammad, founder of Stop the Violence Team, was on the front lines in the war on drugs and crime.
His decades-long mission took a tragic turn on the night of June 29, 2023, however, when he was on the phone with his son, Ali Muhammad, 33, and heard him get shot and killed.
