HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — A record-low number of people are moving, according to a real estate website that helps renters find homes across the country.
According to a Point2homes study, it shows that 1 in 9 people, or 11%, changed their address in 2024, the lowest since 1948, and that a little more than 19% moved out of state.
“There are fewer people moving right now because there are a lot of people who have good equity in their homes, but they’ve got a low interest rate, and they’ve been in their house for a while, and they’re going to stay,” said Jay Mitchell, president of the Hampton Roads Realtors Association…
