PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — With not a drop in the sky, Portsmouth Catholic Regional School principal Donna Henry made a public address announcement Monday morning that prompted student cheers while working parents and guardians headed back to the 200-student school.
“Good morning, Portsmouth Catholic, I hope you had a great day,” Henry said. “I hope that you all will do your snow dances so we can see it come down and enjoy it and we are going to try to get you home safely before it all starts today.”
By noon, the great school day was over for students and teachers at the school with 150 years of history in the city of Portsmouth. Administrators say they would rather be safe than sorry for families who live across the region…
