Chesapeake firefighters extinguish blaze at interstate project site

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake firefighters responded to a fire at an interstate construction site at the I-64 and I-464 interchange just after 2 p.m. Saturday, according to officials.

The fire involved protective tarps and plastic materials being used at the project site.

The accidental fire ignited while construction workers were curing newly poured concrete columns.
