State police interstate chase from Virginia Beach ends in Norfolk with crash, arrest

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A man is facing a long list of charges after a police pursuit that began in Virginia Beach and ended with a crash in Norfolk Monday night, according to Virginia State Police.

Authorities said around 10:27 p.m. on March 2, a state trooper attempted to stop a blue Honda Accord traveling west on Interstate 264 near Lynnhaven Parkway. The vehicle was clocked going 107 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone. Troopers were also aware that the same vehicle had previously eluded Virginia Beach police in the Oceanfront area.

The driver did not stop, leading troopers on a pursuit that continued westbound into Norfolk. Police said the vehicle exited onto Brambleton Avenue, where it crashed into another vehicle stopped at a red light at the intersection of Brambleton and Monticello avenues…
