Norfolk man pleads guilty to abusing disabled daughter

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man pled guilty to physically abusing his 39-year-old disabled daughter, according to the Office of the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney.

On Sept. 9, 2025, Anthony John Wilson, 63, brought his daughter to a routine medical appointment at an outpatient clinic.

Under Virginia law, Wilson’s daughter is considered a “vulnerable adult” as she is nonverbal, wheelchair-bound and has multiple serious medical conditions including cerebral palsy.

During her appointment, staff there noticed that she had numerous bruises on her face, including two black eyes. When asked how his daughter sustained the injuries, Wilson said that he had been drinking and flailing his arms when he accidentally hit his daughter…
