Investigation leads to felony drug and firearm charges: Officials

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — According to officials, an investigation led to felony drug and firearm charges.

On Monday at approximately 6:00 p.m., Rockbridge County Deputy Sheriffs responded to the Willow Springs Road area for a report of a female slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, officials said.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the individual and were able to safely rouse her. During the course of the investigation, deputies deployed a Sheriff’s Office K9 to conduct an open-air sniff of the vehicle. The K9 alerted to the presence of illegal drugs. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of cocaine, clonazepam, more than $5,000 in cash, digital scales, a stolen 9mm handgun, and additional drug paraphernalia, officials said…
