Two men sentenced after 2024 Dollar Tree shooting in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Two men have been sentenced to years in prison after a 2024 shooting at a Dollar Tree in Norfolk, according to the Office of the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney.

On Feb. 17, 2024, Zajshad Russell, 20, Kevon Cooper, 20, Cooper’s younger brother and a fourth person went to the Dollar Tree at 6101 N Military Highway. Not long after, the victim entered the store and saw the group.

Once the victim walked in, Russell, who knew the victim, revealed a gun that was tucked into his waistband. Russell and Cooper both shot at the victim multiple times, wounding him in his leg and chest…
