Tree strike renders Suffolk home uninhabitable

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A house on Windemere Court was deemed uninhabitable after a tree struck the roof Monday evening, according to Suffolk Fire & Rescue.

Crews responded to the 2400 block of Windemere Court in reference to a reported structural collapse at approximately 5:25 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a two-story residential structure with a large three that had fallen through the roof and impacted the room over the garage. Significant structural damage was noted.

Fire officials believe the damage is a result of severe weather moving through the area.

No injuries were reported. No occupants were present at the time of the collapse…
