NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A 26-year-old man was sentenced to six years in prison for a series of robberies and attempted robberies at Norfolk businesses and the assault of sheriff’s deputies.
Judge David W. Lannetti sentenced Alante Jae McHerrin on Feb. 25 after accepting a plea agreement involving three felony charges stemming from incidents in August 2023.
The sentencing followed a lengthy legal process that included a year of mental health treatment for McHerrin.
