Newport News police honor fallen officers during annual memorial service

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The Newport News Police Department honored the 12 officers killed in the line of duty throughout the agency’s history during a memorial service Monday morning.

The ceremony brought together officers, recruits, city leaders and family members of the fallen to reflect on lives lost and the lasting impact those deaths continue to have decades later.
