NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Bon Secours hosted a cermonial groundbreaking for its new four-story patient tower at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, marking a major investment in healthcare on the Peninsula.
This $200 million expansion aims to expand services and enhance patient care, and it will be an upgrade to the current hospital that was built in the 1980s.
“We were one of the first hospitals in the country that had all private rooms,” said Alan George, president of Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital. “The problem is back then, the room designs weren’t accommodating the space that we need today.”…
