2 face charges after allegedly leaving tied-up dog on Bay Area trail

Two people are facing misdemeanor charges after authorities say a French bulldog was abandoned and left tied to a fence along a Rohnert Park trail, according to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety on Wednesday.

The dog was discovered May 28 near the Santa Alicia footbridge on the Copeland Creek path after a caller reported that the animal appeared to have been abandoned, according to the police. A community service officer responded and found the dark-colored dog still tied to the fence.
