Acclaimed SF Thai restaurant Funky Elephant closing this weekend

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — An acclaimed Thai restaurant in San Francisco’s Mission District will be serving its last plate of pad Thai this weekend. Funky Elephant located at 24th and Valencia streets announced in a social media post earlier this month that its SF location will close on Sunday, June 21.

“It’s coming to an end,” the post reads. “Our San Francisco last service day is Sunday, June 21st. Massively! Thank you for all the good vibes and support. Thank you for all the good memories. Thank you and Thank you.”

Funky Elephant on Valencia is the SF outpost of the Michelin-recognized Funky Elephant in Berkeley. That location, which is on 9th Street in West Berkeley, will remain open.

In the post, the restaurant encouraged anyone with gift cards for the SF location to redeem them.

“We’re hoping for one last week of support,” the post read. “We hope to see you all and get to say goodbye before we leave. You can still see us in Berkeley when you get a chance.”…
