Firefighters descended on the 400 block of Broadway at Kearny in North Beach as a one-alarm structure fire broke out in a four-story mixed-use building, sending residents out of their homes and clogging the street with emergency vehicles. The building houses residential units above ground-floor commercial spaces, and crews have been evacuating tenants while working to get the blaze under control.
