$15,000 in cash stolen from ATM worker’s car in Alameda

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Nearly $15,000 in cash was stolen from an ATM technician’s vehicle in Alameda last week, according to authorities. A short time later, police located the suspected thief across the bay in San Francisco, where the money was recovered.

The vehicle burglary occurred June 25 around 5:45 p.m. in the 1200 block of Park Street. Alameda Police Department officers said an ATM replenishment technician was making a scheduled service stop when the theft occurred.

Authorities later learned that the technician had been followed by the suspect prior to the crime.
