Former Tiburon mayor charged with DUI for a second time

Marin County prosecutors this week charged the former mayor of Tiburon with driving under the influence last month, according to court records.

Andrew Lang Thompson, who was twice elected mayor, had a blood alcohol level of 0.21% — more than 2.5 times the legal limit for driving — when he was arrested June 18, according to the complaint.

Around 11:30 p.m., Tiburon police found Thompson sitting in the driver’s seat of a Tesla that was idling and parked horizontally across perpendicular stalls in a parking lot, a spokesperson told the Chronicle.
