Triple-digit heat exits Bay Area forecast as cooler air arrives

Triple-digit temperatures are out of the Bay Area forecast for the rest of the week as a cooler pattern settles in with temperatures close to seasonal norms.

The cooldown is expected to yield more fog in San Francisco by the weekend, but it will be a few days before it fully swallows the city.

Clouds will initially be limited to the immediate coast at sunrise Thursday, including the beaches from Lake Merced to the Presidio, before clearing midmorning. Fog will make it farther east Friday, but even then it will probably give way to afternoon sunshine. On Saturday, morning fog is expected to stick around most of the day in neighborhoods west of Twin Peaks. Highs across the city will mostly be in the 60s Thursday through Sunday…
