SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A San Francisco man who prosecutors said tried to sell a Daly City home that wasn’t his after the rightful owner passed away pleaded no contest to five felony charges on Tuesday.
Darron Dale Singleton Jr., 42, was convicted of two counts of forgery, filing false documents, identity theft and perjury. The no contest plea was conditioned on receiving no more than four years in state prison, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office. Fifteen other charges were dismissed in the case.
After the homeowner at 136 Rio Verde Street died, Singleton “tried to step in and take ownership of the property with no valid claim,” the DA’s office wrote. The crimes occurred between July 17, 2022, and May 11, 2024.
