The Presidio’s food scene has been steadily gaining momentum for years. Now it’s about to get a major addition.
The Mess Hall at the Presidio (opens in new tab), an ambitious food hall three years in the making, will open Aug. 15 with breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings. It houses a coffee counter, speciality market, and full-service cocktail bar, plus three restaurant concepts under one roof — all operated by a single team. That’s one of the reasons Nate Leonard, a founding partner and director of operations, feels confident The Mess Hall won’t suffer the same fate as the struggling Saluhall on Market Street or shuttered La Cocina marketplace in the Tenderloin.
