Burglary At California Post Office Prompts Warning To Monitor Financial Accounts

Police are warning residents of a California community to monitor their financial accounts following a burglary at the local post office.

The San Bruno Police Department issued a “community advisory” on Tuesday alerting residents that a burglary at the San Bruno Post Office is currently being investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS).

Police said anyone who recently visited the post office or deposited mail into a collection box serviced by the post office, including some in the South San Francisco area, may be affected.

“Residents are encouraged to monitor their bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other financial statements for any unauthorized activity,” police said…
