(KRON) — The suspect in a shooting that occurred over the weekend at Alameda’s South Shore Center is facing felony charges, the Alameda County District Attorney announced. Khalid Nelson, 18, was arrested after brandishing a loaded gun and attempting to rob someone in the parking lot outside TJ Maxx on Saturday afternoon.

While Nelson was attempting to rob the victim, a Good Samaritan intervened and was shot in the leg. The injury was non-life-threatening, DA Ursula Jones Dickson’s office said. Nelson was taken into custody at the scene.
A witness described the scene as having “a lot of blood and everything around” and being “a little scary.”
According to the DA, Nelson has been charged with robbery and assault with an unregistered firearm, causing great bodily injury. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday…
