The Alameda County Narcotics Task Force arrested Darrell Hargrove and two accomplices last Thursday, seizing more than 8 kilograms of narcotics, two handguns, and over $15,000 in cash in what authorities describe as the dismantling of a major Bay Area drug operation. All three suspects were booked into San Francisco County Jail rather than an Alameda County facility, a detail authorities have not yet explained.
According to the Alameda County Sheriff, task force detectives seized heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine during the operation, which is logged under case number 26-010801. A transcript attached to the case file identifies 453.2 grams of the seized material as cocaine HCl. The office, based in Oakland, has not detailed the exact locations searched or released the identities of Hargrove’s two accomplices.

The arrest is not Hargrove’s first encounter with the same task force. In January 2006, he was arrested alongside his wife, then an Alameda County Sheriff’s Office employee, after selling cocaine and heroin to undercover officers in East Oakland and crashing into police vehicles while trying to flee, according to SFGATE. That earlier case left Hargrove with a prior record of drug convictions well before his latest arrest.
A Pattern of Major Seizures in Oakland
The August 27 arrest follows closely on the heels of another significant operation. Just two weeks earlier, on August 13, the task force executed search warrants at two Oakland locations, seizing over 3,800 grams of fentanyl, hydraulic kilo presses, and more than $15,000 in cash, per the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.
