(KRON) — A 14-year-old girl who was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in Union City on Friday morning has died, police announced Monday.
The girl was seated in the front passenger seat of a Mazda sedan when the car was involved in a crash with a large commercial box truck at the intersection of Alvarado-Niles and Decoto roads, the Union City Police Department said. First responders were dispatched to the scene at 8:04 a.m. and transported the teen to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

The drivers of both the Mazda and the commercial truck remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation. Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.
