Oakland mom Anna Karrer Manley remembers one of the hardest conversations she had two years ago.
She was 45 and had recently learned about her breast cancer diagnosis. She needed to share the news with her two kids, then ages 6 and 11, to prepare them for her battle with the disease — six rounds of chemotherapy and their most recognizable side effect, hair loss.
