SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A man who died in a fishing boat accident beneath the Golden Gate Bridge last week has been identified as a father and employee of one of the Bay Area’s biggest tech names. Thirty-five-year-old Daniel Zhengyu Qin of San Jose was one of three people aboard a 25-foot vessel that struck rocks on the Marin County side of the bridge last Thursday morning.
The vessel was beginning to capsize when San Francisco Police Department Marine Unit officers responded and pulled all three from the water. They were rushed to the hospital where QIN was pronounced deceased.

A fundraiser set up on behalf of Qin’s family identified him as a “beloved software engineer at Apple, a devoted husband, and a loving father to three young children.” Qin, according to the fundraiser, leaves behind a wife, an 11-year-old son, and two young daughters, aged 9 and 3.
