Several sober-living homes sued by Oakland in 2023 must collectively pay the city more than $2 million, a judge ordered earlier this year.
The City Council last week approved a separate, smaller settlement with three landlords who rented to these programs, seemingly concluding an expansive lawsuit that alleged sexual assault, illegal evictions, and constant police activity at the facilities run by One Rose of Unity and T&A Independent Room and Board.
