When Barbara Lee ran for mayor in 2025, she faced a crowd of challengers, including one well-known rival with a flush war chest and motivated supporters. That made for a close contest. This year, Lee faces three competitors, none of whom have comparable money, name recognition, or endorsements.
Even so, Lee says she’s not taking any chances.
“I don’t accept it’s not a competitive race,” Lee said in an interview with The Oaklandside. “I’ve had a lot of campaigns, and I run to win. And I’m sure everyone else is doing that.”…
