Hayward’s streets will be under the watchful eye of the California Highway Patrol this Friday night. In a proactive move to quell traffic offenses, the CHP will erect a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint within Alameda County’s bustling city limits. From 8:00 p.m. until the wee hours of 2:00 a.m., the checkpoint plans to target a zone known to struggle with inebriated drivers strategically.
