T-shirt thief arrested in Daly City

( KRON ) – An Oakland resident was arrested for robbery following an attempt to return merchandise that was never purchased at a clothing retailer in the Serramonte Center, according to the Daly City Police Department.

Around 8:40 p.m. on June 5, a manager at Zumiez noticed a person selecting T-shirts and placed them in a stroller. According to police, the suspect attempted to return the same T-shirts at the register. The cashier asked the person for a receipt. When the suspect could not provide a receipt, they fled the store with the merchandise.

Candy robbers at large in Daly City

When the manager tried to get the merchandise from the suspect, they said, “I will fire off and I will put hands on you.” According to police, the suspect stole approximately $200 worth of T-shirts.

The suspect fled in a Dodge Durango, which was later located by Daly City police officers. The suspect was identified as a 36-year-old Oakland resident. The suspected robber was arrested and booked into jail on robbery charges.
