District 5 residents are ready for a change this November election

Oakland’s District 5 is one of the city’s most densely inhabited and diverse areas. It’s a hub of Latinx culture and small, immigrant-owned businesses. It encompasses Jingletown by the railroad tracks and estuary, Fruitvale, and parts of Melrose and stretches like Foothill Boulevard from 24th Avenue to 54th Street and High Street from the Estuary to Brookdale Avenue. In 2023, Glenview, a neighborhood of single-family homes nestled around Park Boulevard above I-580 freeway, was moved into District 4.
