Davis (coach’s decision) is inactive for Sunday’s game against the Giants, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports. Davis has started in 28 games for the Commanders over the last two seasons, but he did not start in Week 1 against the Buccaneers and he finished the contest with three tackles (two solo) while playing just 16 snaps (13 on defense, three on special teams). With Washington going to a 3-4 scheme under head coach Dan Quinn, Davis doesn’t appear to have an established role in the defense to start the regular season. The 2021 first-round pick’s next chance at suiting up will be Week 3 against the Bengals on Sept. 23.
