A recent WalletHub survey has highlighted several California cities as top destinations for women, assessing factors such as economic opportunities, health care, and safety. The survey evaluated 182 cities across the U.S., focusing on women’s living standards and potential for thriving.

Fremont Takes the Lead in California

Fremont emerged as the second-best city for women nationwide. With only 6% of women living in poverty—one of the lowest rates in the nation—Fremont also boasts a median annual wage of $46,986 after adjusting for cost of living. The city ranks 15th for women’s job security and has an impressively low health insurance gap, with just 2.5% of women uninsured. Additionally, Fremont’s life expectancy for women is among the highest in the country, contributing to its strong position.

Huntington Beach Shines Bright

Huntington Beach secured the third spot in WalletHub’s rankings. Known for its outstanding health metrics, the city has a life expectancy for women exceeding 85 years. With a strong job market, women in Huntington Beach enjoy a low poverty rate and high job security. The city also boasts a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit, with nearly 24% of businesses owned by women, ranking it among the top ten cities for female entrepreneurship.
