Steve Kerr Fires Adamant Message Amid Steph Curry’s Concerning Injury

The Golden State Warriors dropped their home opener after losing to the Los Angeles Clippers, 112-104, at Chase Center on Sunday.

It could also be a costly defeat as superstar Steph Curry exited the game midway through the fourth quarter due to an ankle injury and did not return. He ended up with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists. The Warriors dropped to 2-1.

After the game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Curry used “mild” and “moderate” to describe his ankle sprain. Kerr, however, noted that it’s still a concern.

Curry is off to a pedestrian start to the season, averaging 18.3 points on 41.5% shooting, 5.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 3.7 turnovers per game. He is only playing 26.3 minutes an outing due to Kerr’s new 12-man rotation.

But it is exactly the Warriors’ depth that could mitigate the situation if Curry sits out for an extended period, according to Kerr.

“We’ve got a deep team,” Kerr said in a report from NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole . “We’ve talked about it. We’ve got a lot of guys who can play, so we’ll be ready.”
