Plans for a new 72-story residential skyscraper at 524-530 Howard Street in San Francisco’s South of Market (SoMa) district have been approved, as reported by SF YIMBY.
The San Francisco Planning Commission is currently reviewing the project. In a recent meeting on October 24, officials discussed an amendment to the planning code to waive the Transit Center District Open Space Impact Fee for a proposed pedestrian bridge. This bridge, designed to span a four-story garage deck, would link the skyscraper’s office lobby to the rooftop park at the Transbay Transit Center, enhancing connectivity in the area.
The project, made possible by Assembly Bill 2011, could become the tallest residential building in the city and rank among San Francisco’s four tallest structures overall.
