Draymond Green fires inadvertent shot at 76ers while discussing Buddy Hield

Draymond Green probably didn’t mean to fire any shots at the Philadelphia 76ers the other night, but he indirectly did, regardless.

During the Golden State Warriors game against the Phoenix Suns , Green was caught cussing out former Sixer Buddy Hield on the broadcast, telling him to “Wake the (expletive) up or sit the (expletive) down.”

After the game, Green tried to justify his harsh words toward Hield while taking an inadvertent shot at the Sixers.

“I’ll say it right into the mic. I don’t give a damn. It was needed,” Green told reporters . “…Buddy hasn’t had the opportunity to play a bunch of meaningful basketball in this league. Guess what? It’s our job to make sure he understands what that means. And if people don’t like it, so be it. That’s why they don’t have four championships, and I do.”

This comes off like a dig at the Sixers in a way because it insinuates that when Hield played for them, it didn’t hold much merit.

To be fair, Green’s not exactly wrong about Hield in this context. The sharpshooter came into the NBA in 2016 but made the playoffs for the first time with the Sixers in 2024 .
