DANVILLE, CALIFORNIA – Piatti restaurant in Danville, California recently completed a massive, three-month renovation.
Naturally, a lot of people were concerned about how it might change this staple of the Danville community.
Would the new Piatti still serve as a semi-casual, central meeting spot for the community, as the old restaurant had? Or would it be all high-concept–and wildly expensive?
We visited in the first week after the reopening, and shared our opinions in our own review. But when we opened the question up to our readers, they had some strong opinions of their own!
The Good
Many diners continue to enjoy Piatti’s food and ambiance. Irene S. called it “always a great restaurant,” and Susan M. described it as a “staple in Danville with good food and a great staff.”
Nancy M. appreciated the updates, saying the restaurant isn’t drastically different but is now “better, new, and clean.” Adele P. singled out the Eggplant Parmesan as “delicious,” and Judith F. expressed relief that the changes weren’t too dramatic, noting, “Thankfully it didn’t change much.”
Tammy C. complimented the flavors, even though she noticed some adjustments in portion sizes and drink measurements. Others, like Dorothy M., kept it simple, saying, “Still great!”
The Bad
Some diners, though, weren’t as thrilled. Heather B. lamented the removal of her favorite dish, Chicken Piccata.
We agree–the loss of the piccata was, frankly, devastating…
