World’s best cheese slice is in the Bay Area, according to major pizza competition

The co-owner of a Bay Area pizzeria took home a major award at a famous international pizza competition on Thursday.

Alexis Rorabaugh of Berkeley’s popular Rose Pizzeria won world’s best cheese pizza slice at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas, the largest pizza making competition in the country. This year’s expo overall broke the record for the number of competitors, according to the event’s website. About 75 contestants competed in the cheese slice category, one of five divisions including pan pizza and pizza Napoletana.
