East Bay investigators seek new details in 2003 drive-by killing

Alameda County cold case investigators are seeking new information in the 2003 slaying of 22-year-old Angelo Ravella.

Ravella was killed in a drive-by shooting in San Lorenzo around 12:40 a.m. on March 28, 2003, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. Several people in a car resembling a 1980s Cadillac shot up a truck that Ravella was sitting in at the corner of Via Chiquita and Bockman Road and sped off, investigators said.

The day Ravella was killed, he had passed a mechanics exam at Peralta College and gone to a bar on Castro Valley Boulevard with a friend to celebrate, according to an East Bay Times story detailing the tragedy…
