( KRON ) — A man suspected of making and selling meth in Marin County was arrested on March 27, after Marin County Sheriff’s Office investigators found 14 guns and a suspected methamphetamine lab while serving search warrants in San Rafael and Richmond.

Detectives with the Marin County Specialized Investigative Unit began investigating the suspect, Jesse James Starr, in February. Starr was released from prison in 2023 after serving roughly 10 years for dealing meth and leading authorities on a high-speed chase in March of 2013.
“SIU Detectives conducted a probation search at Starr’s residence in San Rafael, as well as at a storage facility in Richmond,” the MCSO said. “During the search, Detectives seized 14 firearms, including assault rifles, stolen firearms, and firearms that appeared to be personally manufactured.”
Detectives also seized approximately 1 pound of meth, 18 grams of fentanyl, 12 grams of suspected ketamine, 2 grams of heroin and pieces of a suspected meth lab.
