Man convicted in random Tenderloin mob attack stabbing: SF DA

SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) — A 34-year-old man was convicted Wednesday for taking part in an unprovoked, ambush-style stabbing two years ago in San Francisco’s problematic Tenderloin neighborhood, said prosecutors. The victim was simply walking down a street when he was swarmed and attacked by several men.

Jason Fayad was found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon in the Nov. 8, 2023 attack after a trial by jury, said San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.

DA Jenkins said testimony and evidence showed that the victim was walking down the street in the area of Leavenworth and Turk streets when “he was brutally attacked by approximately eight men.” The DA said Fayad hopped in on the assault and “stabbed the victim in the back,” sending him to the hospital. The extent of his injuries was not clear…
