Richmond crime incidents and offenses April 20-27

The following is a summary of notable incidents recently handled by Richmond police, as reported in the department’s daily log. The police log provides a brief record of arrests, reported crimes, and other public safety activity across the city.

Sunday, April 20

Vandalism: 900 block of Humboldt Street. Vandalism was reported with damage estimated to be less than $400 at 3:24 a.m.

Weapon/False Personation Charges: Southern District: Police arrested two men early Sunday after a proactive patrol in the southern district led to the discovery of two loaded firearms in a vehicle. Around 2 a.m., officers responded to loud music at an apartment complex but made no arrests.

An hour later, a K9 officer stopped the same vehicle for expired registration and a search revealed two loaded firearms, one with an illegal conversion device for fully automatic fire. The driver gave a false name and had an outstanding warrant, while the passenger had three out-of-state warrants and was known to carry firearms. Both were booked on multiple firearm charges, including possession of a machine gun.

Aggravated Assault: 200 block of 17th Street. Someone was arrested on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges at 6 a.m…
