Man dies in police custody after Bay Area paramedic injected him with controversial sedative

Authorities are investigating the death of a man after a paramedic allegedly injected him with a controversial sedative in Hayward last month, according to authorities and a report.

A multi-agency investigation was launched after Nathan Hoang, 41, was arrested and died in an ambulance on March 12 after a paramedic allegedly injected him with midazolam, a powerful sedative, according to court records and the Bay Area News Group .
