In another blow to downtown’s ailing San Francisco Centre, a jewelry store abruptly exited the troubled property in recent days, another jeweler is set to follow this month and a third store said it will go this summer as the giant, largely empty, downtown mall’s roster of retailers continues to dwindle.
APM Monaco representatives showed up late last month, quickly packed the contents of the company’s store and put a sign on the glass door directing customers to an affiliated outlet in the Westfield Valley Fair mall in Santa Clara, according to an employee of a nearby shop. The sign said the old store’s last day of business was April 27. An inquiry to the company seeking comment did not receive a reply.
Meanwhile, May 19 is scheduled to be the last day in the San Francisco Centre for jewelry-store chain Swarovski, according to store staff members, who declined to be identified. A message to the company received no response…
