SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) – If you’ve recently visited the Trader Joe’s at Bay and Hyde streets in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf neighborhood, you may have noticed a new addition to the parking lot: large black cylinder protectors wrapped around the pillars.
Outside Lands adds new artist, announces daily lineup
These wraps likely serve to shield both cars and the structure from collision damage. However, they do take up some space, as it was a bit trickier maneuvering into certain parking spots.
KRON4 reached out to Trader Joe’s for details on how much parking space has been reduced and whether the cylinder protectors are part of a test at this location or a response to increased incidents of cars hitting the pillars.
