Brentwood, California — A grass fire in Brentwood on May 9 prompted a swift response from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District after multiple 911 calls reported visible flames in an open field.
According to the district, Engine 95 observed smoke roughly half a mile from the scene while en route. Upon arrival, firefighters initiated structure protection measures as flames advanced toward nearby homes. The blaze, which threatened residential areas, was brought under control within 55 minutes, burning approximately 10 acres.
